This type of fraud is when someone obtains the title of your property and changes ownership from your information to theirs by using fake ID and forged signatures.
The scary part is, you may not even realize it has happened until it’s too late.
To protect yourself against home title fraud, you must get title insurance.
Title insurance is an insurance policy that protects you, the home owner, against challenges to the ownership of your home or from problems related to the title to your home. Title insurance could be the original homeowner's only saving grace.
